About the Field notes thread

Shorter, less structured entries than the main clusters: observations from running the operation that are worth recording but do not need a full treatment. Content cadence, growth that did or did not materialise, a metric that turned out to be measuring the wrong thing, a decision reversed a month later.

These are deliberately provisional. The longer-form clusters state conclusions; field notes state what is currently being tried, which is a different and sometimes more useful thing to read. Several of the arguments that later became full articles started here as an unresolved observation.

The overlap with the online-business thread is intentional and worth explaining, because it affects how you should read both. Field notes are where a pattern is first noticed, usually from a single instance and without enough evidence to generalise. If it holds up across a few months it graduates into a full article in one of the business clusters, with the reasoning worked out properly. So a note here is best read as a hypothesis with a date attached, not a recommendation.
