About the Monetization & ads thread
How free products pay for themselves. This site runs on advertising, so the ad material here is written from the inside: what display advertising actually yields at small scale, what a policy review looks like from the receiving end, and where ads degrade a product badly enough that the revenue is not worth it.
That last point is a firm line rather than a rhetorical one: ads run on the hub's content pages and never inside the apps' editors, because an ad next to a tool someone is trying to concentrate on costs more in abandonment than it earns in impressions.
Beyond advertising, the cluster covers pricing structure, free-tier design, disclosure obligations, and the other revenue paths a small operation can realistically reach.

- Free-tier design: what to give away so the paid thing still makes sense
